3on6/4on8
** The 3on6/4on8 process is as follows.
1. Have a consultation with a licensed 3 on 6 provider. Depending on whether you are coming from out of state or going to a licensed provider that is closer to you, the consult can be done one of two ways. If from out of state the consult is done virtually by emailing your panoramic x-ray or CBCT scan over to the office. (The doc will look at your scans to determine if you are a good candidate or not. If you are a good candidate, then a treatment plan will be drawn up for you.) If you are able to drive to the office then of course the consult is done in person. The consult is usually free.
2. The next step is going to be figuring out your financing and then getting surgery scheduled.
3. The process for your surgery is going to vary depending on whether you will be traveling for your procedure or going to a local 3 on 6 provider.
4. If traveling from out of state (usually to Utah) the process is done a little differently. You should plan to be in Utah for at least 3 or 4 days for your pre-op appointment (which is when your scans and x-rays are done), your surgery, and then your post-op visit the day after.
5. After surgery the process is generally the same for both. You are put in a pair of temporary 1 piece “healing bridges”. You go back home and heal for at least 3 months and at this time you have to maintain a soft food diet. This is very important for proper implant osseointegration! So no direct pressure on the implants during this time.
6. Once you have healed you go back to your provider and at this time (as long as you have healed properly from your surgery) you will get your second set of temporaries. Now with your second set the bridges will be in either 3 or 4 pieces whichever procedure you got, 3on6 or 4on8. You will wear these for a day or 2 and make any necessary changes or “tweaks’ to them for your final teeth.
7. Once all changes, if any, have been made then your mouth is scanned for your final zirconia bridges! .
